The great downspiral is what happens at the end of my lore, eventually there is so much tension and war in the society that the humans find out about the society, in their point of view its a bunch of insane and rabid dogs and cats killing each other and living in human land and weating clothes, the dogs in the society are easy to spot and different than regular pet dogs

soon thousands of dogs in the society- then millions get shot (putting down millions of dogs is seen as way too expensive), animal lovers protest this but Reaper was very anti human and that caused tons of these dogs to kill humans so the government of many countries had a valid reason to kill all these dogs and some cats

Reaper and virtually everyone else had realised they lost, Reapers great empire was over and he had realised that he was no longer a powerful dictator but a dumb dog that was going to get put down on the streets like any other mangy stray, he ends up jumping off a building in Polorus and falling to his death.

Many other leaders such as Khan follow in his footsteps but most just end up being killed by humans

Trent goes back to the hotel where he originally stayed in with Gunther and he goes insane and realises this was all Gunthers fault, he goes and gets a knife and stabs Gunther in the neck 3 times. After he does this he ends up blacking out and waking up bleeding out on the floor of his old cage in the illegal dog fighting ring he was raised in.

now, there are two different possibilities here

1. Trent woke up there because the severe abuse and neglect made him hallucinate Gunther and the society and everyone else in the lore, this would explain a few plot holes like how come the humans didnt figure the society out earlier?

2. As Gunther was bleeding out, in his final moments he made Trent hallucinate and he made Trent stab him self the stomach causing the blackout and made him hallucinate being back in the cage, the bleeding would've been the stab Gunther caused in this case
